Mental Health disorders are becoming very common in soldiers returning from war. In one recent study it was found that 14 percent of soldiers who were returning from Iraq has serious mental health issues due to post traumatic stress disorder or depression.
Mental health problems are often harder to recognize because they are not as apparent as physical injuries. Depression and Post traumatic stress disorder often go undetected.
Suicide has become more common in soldiers returning from war. The Veterans Health Administration recently found that around 12,000 veterans are attempting suicide each year. The veterans may not know how to deal with their mental health disorders and may not be getting the help that they need.
